Royals - Lorde music video analysis

Pharrell Williams - Marilyn Monroe analysis

Camera work:
- Tracking shots to show the Pharrell moving around
- Zooms to emphasise different people in the music video and to add diversity in the camera work so people don't get bored of the same camera work throughout the video
- Shot Reverse Shots to show the artist then another shot of something else and then back to the artist
- Close up on artists and characters to show performance and visual representations of the lyrics in the song
- Rotation shots in the tri coloured room to show the contrast of colours

Editing:
- Cross Cutting to show performance and the women to emphasise the lyrics of the song
- On the beat editing to make the video flow more smoothly so it won't feel unnatural
- Montage editing to show multiple events at different times in the same video
- Cutaways to emphasise the lyrics
- Some Continuity editing to show the flow between the dance studio and the three coloured room

Mise-En-Scene:
- Dreamy space setting at the start to show he was dreaming
- Urban city setting for relateability and a contrast from the dream scene
- Bright colours to keep the convention of the pop music video
- high key lighting because its a pop video
- Synchronized dancing because its a very common convention of a pop video
